'Cannibal Couple' In Russia Claim They Have Eaten Over 30 People
If you thought cannibalism is a thing of the past or is seen in the animal kingdom alone, you are wrong. Yes, you might have heard of stories where people were forced to resort to cannibalism in extreme do or die conditions. But, strangely a couple from Russia who do not fall in any of these categories, have been cannibals since 1999. Other than being much 'unorganised' their neighbours did not feel anything wrong with them.
The Russian couple has confessed to killing and eating at least 30 people. They have been dubbed as the country’s ‘cannibal couple’. They have been allegedly murdering people since 1999. The husband is 35 years-old and is named Dmitry Baksheev. The wife’s name is not known. Blood-chilling photographs were found by a construction worker, who happened to find the Baksheev’s phone while repairing a local road. While scanning through his photographs he came across selfies of the man with various human body parts. Just when he was going through the gallery, Baksheev reached the spot to claim the phone. The matter was soon taken up by the police.
After detailed interrogation, it was found out that the couple reportedly manufactured canned human meat to serve servicemen in the nearby military school, where the wife worked as a nurse. Dmitry has not only admitted to killing the people whose photographs were found on his phone but also boasted of multiple other killings, revealing that they’ve been doing the same for over two decades now.
Body parts and human remains were found when officials raided the house of the couple. They are also accused of drugging their victims with tranquilizer Corvalol before killing them.
The police have so far identified seven of their victims.
Baksheev and his wife have been detained with the accusation of kidnapping, killing and eating up to 30 people.
