It took developer Rob J to design something that should have been baked into the WhatsApp. Many chat services have always allowed it and we’ve often wondered as to why the most popular messaging service didn’t already have something like that. Can’t Talk is an app for Android devices that auto-replies to most of the popularly used messaging platforms and more. It can auto reply to your SMSes and calls too. You are also allowed to set up a custom message for your replies. The app is currently in beta stage though you can download it from Play Store.
Can’t Talk lets you choose the apps that you wish to use with, and toggle the reply on or off. It works just like you thought – Whenever you receive a message, Can’t Talk automatically sends the specified reply to the sender. But it does not offer any audio notification. There is a notification of the lock-screen though.
Can’t Talk also works smoothly on group chats. But this is also where it gets messy. Every time you get a message on your group, it replies to it, making it more of a nuisance than being helpful. You can specify the amount of delay you want before Can’t Talk sends a reply. By default, this setting is kept at 15 minutes.
To avoid replying to groups and other contacts, Can’t Talk lets you choose which contacts you wish to reply to. However, we could not get it to work and no replies were sent by the app. Perhaps that feature will be refined in later versions.
Can’t Talk allows replies to other platforms such as Slack and Telegram. Currently the app is free with a two week trail. For the full version you’ll have to shell out Rs 85 for a year’s subscription. To get the Lifetime plan, get ready to pay Rs 150. The app still requires a lot of perfections but it can still do the job.
