The Dota championship is over and it is now time to move on to other games. While 2017 was a good year for games, we now only have two months to left for the year to end. So, it is now time to move on. Let’s look at what’s in store for 2018 and get you all prepped up (so you can start saving) for the next year.
Far Cry 5
Scheduled to release on February 27, 2018, it’s a first person shooter, action-adventure game developed and published by Ubisoft for PC, Xbox One and Playstation 4. It is the fifth installment in the series.
Unlike the previous title, Far Cry 5 features a new character creator where you can design your character’s appearance and gender. This time there will be an emphasis on close quarter combat compared to earlier Far Cry titles and players have a variety of melee weapons. The game will also feature a map editor and supports cooperative multiplayer mode.
From the makers of Dragon Age and Mass Effect, Anthem is perhaps one of the biggest releases of 2018. Anthem is an online only multiplayer action role playing game being developed by Bioware and published by Electronic Arts. The game is to feature both single and cooperative multiplayer modes in a “shared world.” Teams can have a total of four members and can fight savage beasts and marauders while exploring ruins. Drew Karpyshyn, better known for his work on Mass Effect, is a writer for this title. Makes you salivate doesn’t it?
The Crew 2
Just like its older sibling, The Crew 2 is also a racing game featuring a cooperative multiplayer mode as well as an offline mode. Not much is known about it except that it will be based in a scaled down version of the United States where you can race and free roam on your vehicle. The game features four different hub worlds and players can choose between controlling sea, air and land vehicles quickly.
Developed by 4A Games, Metro Exodus follows the events post Metro: Last Light and Metro 2033. Following its predecessors, Metro Exodus is likely to have survival, horror and stealth elements. As usual, the game will be set in a post-apocalyptic world where the player must fight against horrible looking creatures as well as hostile humans. Reports suggest that Exodus is likely to have a dynamic weather system. As for weapons, we doubt there will be much change from the traditional handmade ones (think country weapons) but there may be new entries.
Darksiders IIIWe saved the biggest one for the last. The third entry of this incredible hack and slash video game series by Vigil Games was mired with financial complications as THQ, the parent company filed for bankruptcy in 2012. After being taken over by Nordic Games in 2013, Darksiders III went deep in to development mode. Again, not much is known on Darksders III except that it will follow event of the earlier titles, and will introduce Fury, Rider of the Black Horse, Sister Horseman of the Apocalypse in her quest to destroy the Seven Deadly Sins. BTW, Amazon.com has already listed it and is available for pre-orders.
