Fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld recently passed away and if reports are to be believed, his cat Choupette will be earning an estimated $195 million fortune. The news was confirmed by Chanel, where Lagerfeld had been working since 1983, before dying aged 85, following an illness. A French magazine called Le Figaro claimed that Lagerfeld once said that Choupette was an ‘heiress.’ "If something happens to me, the person who will take care of her will not be in misery," he was quoted as saying by the magazine.
Choupette is known for living lavishly and Lagerfeld referred to her as a ‘full-time job’ as per CNBC. She has maids dedicated to her well-being and has over 235,000 followers on Instagram and over 50,000 on Twitter. Now the question is, what would a cat do with close to $200 million? Well, we’re sure a part of the dough will go paying the maids or whoever is in charge of looking after Choupette. The rest could be used for a number of other possibilities. Take a look below:
Louis XV Pet Pavilion - $23,990
When you sleep on a king sized bed, why should your pet sleep on a rug? Designed after an 18th-century French rosewood commode, this bed looks fit for a royal feline.
Hello Kitty Crystal Pet house - $31,660
Decorated with 75,000 crystal beads, this pet house is a palace for any cat. Unfortunately, if Choupette isn’t well trained, the maids might have to scoop out poop from the cushions.
A puppy tiara - $4.2 million
Yes, it was designed for dogs. So what? We’re talking about the richest cat in the world who’s already got a host of maids looking after her and lives the life of a king. A puppy tiara would simply enforce Choupette’s dominion not only over the hoomans but also those annoying tailwaggers.
Armour Collar for Dogs - $3.2 million
Here’s another jewel not meant for felines, but hey, a rich cat wouldn’t mind a bit of jewellery hanging off her neck would she?
Finally, with all the money that is still left, Choupette could have her own supply of the best gourmet cat food, because hey, you can have all the jewels in the world, but there’s nothing better than food right?
