Slack, a popular messaging service, used mainly by working professionals suffered a severe outage earlier this morning. Users around the world were at a loss as they were unable to send or receive messages and files. Around 5 am, the company took to Twitter to announce the same and that they were working in resolving it.
Around 6:43am, another tweet from Slack said that the service was back online for some users but cautioned that the issue is not completely fixed. Attempts to access the service returned a “server error” message. As of now, the company’s status page shows that the app is up and running.
We're sincerely sorry for the service disruption you're seeing at the moment. We're working on it with top priority: https://t.co/hlhV4ZiG7E

We're hearing reports of successful connections. Things should slowly be returning to normal but we're not fully out of the woods just yet.

Slack has about 9 million weekly active users from over 100 countries. The company’s website also says that 50,000 companies including 43 from the Fortune 100 list pay for its services. The app is meant for messaging purposes amongst teams and is often used by workplaces to allow workers to communicate.
As the outage became widespread, workers across the planet faced difficulty in communications and took to twitter to vent out their frustrations.
