TVS Motors, the Chennai based automobile maker launched its new flagship bike named Apache RR 310. Priced at Rs 2.05, the RR 310 was first showcased as the Akula 310 concept at the 2016 Auto Expo. It was one of the most awaited motorcycles in India and will hit the road soon. The RR 310 looks a lot like the concept model it took inspiration from.
The rear section of the bike went through a lot of changes. It received a sleek rear section with a seating arrangement for two and a new unusual LED tail lamp. The RR 310 has a 312.2cc liquid cooled, single cylinder engine manufactured by TVS in India. Coupled to a sex speed gearbox, the fuel injected motor can churn out 34PS at 9,4700rpm with peak torque of 27.3Nm at 7,700rpm.
The Apache RR 310 weighs 169.5kg and reaches from 0 to 60kmph at a short time of just 2.93 seconds. It can reach a top speed of 160kmph. Just like the BMW G 310 R, the TVS bike also sports alloy wheels with wide, tubeless tires and a dual channel anti-lock braking system.
Sudarshan Venu, Joint Managing Director, TVS Motor Company said during the launch that the RR 310 marks a major milestone for the company. “The TVS Apache RR 310 is the most advanced and exclusive offering in our product portfolio, as it is a manifestation of 35 years of learnings from the race track, coupled with cutting-edge technology. We are confident that customers will find it to be a perfect combination of racecraft technology and riding dynamics."
The TVS Apache RR 310 is expected to compete with the likes of the KTM RC 390, Kawasaki Ninja 300, Benelli 302R and the Yamaha R3 which is awaiting a re-launch.
