Prince Harry and Meghan Markle spent just three minutes introducing the world to their baby boy - but the footage and photos will be admired for years to come. They posed as a family of three for the first time in Windsor Castle in front of a few invited members of the media. Despite being carefully organised by their team of staff, some things didn't quite go to plan - not that anybody really cared once they saw adorable little Archie.
Here are a few of the secrets of today's historical photoshoot.
They had to change the location at last minute
Meghan and Harry wanted to take the photos on the steps behind Windsor Castle, in the same spot they posed for one of their official wedding pictures. The relaxed black and white snap, which shows them sitting down and smiling broadly, is many peoples' favourite. But typical British weather meant this wasn't possible, so they had to go with the "wet weather scenario" inside the castle walls. They picked the historical and beautiful St George's Hall instead.
Meghan and Harry had their own photographer there as well
As well as inviting a press photographer, the couple had their own there to take some more personal snaps. Chris Allerton, who took some of the couple's personal wedding day photos, was in prime position to get some lovely snaps during today's event. Meghan and Harry later shared three of his stunning photos on their Instagram page. The first snap shows the couple walking into the room, a split second before the world got the first glimpse of Baby Sussex. The second is a black and white shot showing both looking lovingly down at the baby.

The final snap, which is also in black and white, shows them walking away from the camera. Harry is carrying the baby, as he did through the brief meeting, and Meghan has her arm on her husband's back. He also took the lovely photo of Archie meeting his great-grandmother the Queen.
It was a lot longer than it should have been
The press were told they had just 10 seconds to get their photos and a reporter could then ask three questions. However, the Duke and Duchess didn't rush them along and seemed delighted to be chatting about their baby. In the end, the whole thing lasted three minutes.
Doria was standing nearby
Doria wasn't seen during the initial photo call, but Meghan mentioned her mum in the interview. Talking about going to see the Queen afterwards, she said: "We just bumped into the duke as we were walking by which was so nice. So it'll be a nice moment to introduce the baby to more family and my mum's with us as well."
A last minute carpet tidy
Communications secretary Sara Latham and deputy communications secretary Julie Burley were at the event making sure everything ran smoothly. Just a few seconds before Meghan and Harry arrived Julie was spotted picking a few bits of lint off the carpet, reports Harpers Bazaar.
They had probably already picked the name
Meghan and Harry revealed the baby's name just a few hours after meeting the press. They have to tell the Queen before it's officially announced, so it's likely they did this when they met her and Prince Philip afterwards.

There was a sweet meaning behind Meghan's necklace
Along with a white shirt dress, Meghan wore a gold and turquoise gem necklace by Jen Meyer and earrings by Adina Reyter. Turquoise is regarded as the love charm and is also a symbol of good fortune and success - maybe hinting at her love and hopes for health and happiness for her son.Read More
