Controversies don’t seem to die for the self-styled gurus. This time it is Radhe Maa, the controversial godwoman. In a video which surfaced on social media, Radhe maa can be seen sitting on the chair of the Station House Officer (SHO) in Delhi’s Vivek Vihar police station, while the officer himself is seen standing next to her draped in a red and gold shawl with folded hands. This act of the officer has landed him in serious trouble leading to an inquiry into the incident.
The SHO, Sanjay Sharma was reportedly sent to the district line as the visuals emerged. “An additional deputy commissioner of police-rank officer has begun an inquiry into the matter,” said Ravindra Yadav, Joint Commissioner of Police, Eastern Range. The godwoman has reportedly come to the police station at around midnight of September 28-29, met police officials and other staff members, who offered her a warm welcome. The godwoman stayed there for about 15 minutes and the SHO offered her his chair. She was joined by few other policemen in singing patriotic songs in the video.
After the probe was ordered, senior police officials collected the CCTV footage from the police station. Other policemen present during the event are likely to face action too.
She also makes an appearance in a video recorded at a Ram Lila function at GTB Enclave where five police personnel from the GTB Enclave police station are seen singing patriotic songs as she sways to their tune.
Earlier this year too, a Mumbai-based woman had approached the Bombay High Court alleging that Radhe Maa had prompted her in-laws to harass her for dowry.
