Yoga Guru Ramdev is a bit too pissed with the country's population, we guess; so much that he has strict punishments planned for people who give birth to more than two children! Many might remember BJP's Sakshi Maharaj advocating in favour of Hindu women giving birth to four children to protect Hinduism. Ramdev, however, isn't walking that path at all. He, in fact, says people who do not control the number of children they produce, should be deprived of all privileges provided by the Government.
"Those who have more than 2 children, their voting rights should be taken away & they shouldn't be allowed to contest elections. Don't let them use govt schools, hospitals, & don't give them govt jobs. Population will be controlled automatically," he said while inaugurating the Patanjali garment store in Aligarh. This is not the first time Ramdev is batting for population control. Last year in November, he said people who remained unmarried deserved a special honour.
"In this country, people who never get married should be given special honour. And if someone chooses to get married, then there should be a restriction on that couple to produce only two children. Anyone having more than two children should be deprived of voting rights," he said at an event.
A special honour for bachelors sounds a bit too dramatic. While controlling the population is the need of the hour in the world's second most populated nation, we aren't sure such drastic steps are ever going to suit the Government. What do you think?
