Pakistan's former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is presently serving a jail term of seven years. The leader is situated at Lahore's Kot Lakhpat jail. A couple of days back, he was rushed to a hospital due to cardiac complications. Although he was discharged after a couple of tests, his doctor said he needed aggressive medical attention and is best shifted to a hospital. The Pakistan Muslim League leaders dropped in at the jail to visit their leader. When asked about his health, Nawaz reportedly got poetic.
"Un ke dekhey se jo ajati hai munh par rounaq, Woh samajhtey hain ke beemar ka haal achcha hai (On seeing her my face brightens up, She presumes that the condition of the sick (me) is better now),” he answered, reports Geo TV. As per the jail authority's arrangement, visitors can meet him on Thursdays. Rest of the time, it is about poetry and loneliness, is it? A few months ago, in September 2018, Nawaz's wife Kulsoom Sharif died in London, after a prolonged battle with cancer. It is now his mother and his daughter Maryam in the family.
In 2017, the Supreme Court of Pakistan removed him from his office pertaining to revelations from the Panama Paper case. He later was announced disqualified from holding a public office.
