While the world was celebrating Valentine’s Day on February 14, India was hit with a horrific terror attack. An SUV laden with explosive rammed in the bus carrying soldiers in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir. The nation is currently mourning the loss of 40 CRPF jawans. Post the attack, Pakistan has come under severe attack for being a silent spectator and housing terrorists on its soil. Even as India is grappling with the situation, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is on tour to Pakistan and received a warm welcome and had the country’s newly appointed Prime Minister Imran Khan at his beck and call.
When we say beck and call, we really mean it. Breaking protocol, 66-year-old Imran Khan took the wheel of his official car and personally drove Prince Mohammad to the PM’s House, where a welcome ceremony was held in his honour. Imran Khan personally received the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman at Nur Khan airbase in Rawalpindi. The crown prince later got a guard of honour during a welcoming ceremony held for him in Islamabad where a 21-gun salute was also given to the Saudi royal. Federal Ministers of Pakistan government and Pakistan Army chief, Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa too were present at the air base to welcome him.
