The Election Commission recently rolled out dates of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Beginning from 11th April till 19th May, the election will unfold in a total of seven phases. This has got the political parties geared up. But the more important agenda public representatives have to probably concentrate on is how to bring a significant downfall to the number of citizens who do not vote. And Prime Minister Narendra Modi has found a wise way for that, it seems like.
On Wednesday morning, we noticed the PM posting a series of tweets, tagging celebrities from different walks. This included actors like Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt, sportspersons such as Sachin Tendulkar, Bajrang Punia, Geeta Phogat and politicians such as Rahul Gandhi, Pranab Mukherjee, and Mamata Banerjee among others. That definitely is a unique approach towards asking more and more people to vote! The tweets are garnering plenty of attention from the netizens, therefore serving the purpose.
In his tweet addressed to Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal and Varun Dhawan, Modi mentioned the two most popular dialogues from Ranveer's Gully Boy and Vicky's Uri.
"A vote is a great way to make the people's voice heard," said his tweet to Sachin Tendulkar, Lata Mangeshkar, and AR Rahman.
Modi had an individual tweet to veteran Congress leader and former President Pranab Mukherjee that mentioned him as one "among India's most prolific statesmen and someone who has been active in politics for decades".
Hope that encourages more people to practice their voting rights!
