It’s the year of the big Lok Sabha elections. The one in which Narendra Modi will prove that his power and influence lie beyond the sloganeering and mud-slinging. Rahul Gandhi, on the other hand, has to prove that he is worthy of votes and the future will, indeed, be secure in his hands. Representatives are being chosen and both parties are looking to secure some credible faces. The BJP seems to have found their pick in cricketer Ravindra Jadeja’s wife Rivaba.
Reportedly, Rivaba joined the ruling BJP in Jamnagar on Sunday. Gujarat’s Agriculture Minister RC Faldu and Jamnagar MP Poonam Maadam welcomed Jadeja’s wife into the party fold. Her appointment comes only a few months after she and her cricketer husband met with the PM. Interestingly PM Modi will be visiting the state soon. Rivaba, however, is not new to politics. In fact, reports say that about five months ago, she was appointed as the chief of the women’s wing of the Karni Sena. The same Karni Sena is the Kashtriya community outfit that protested vehemently against the release of Hindi movie Padmaavat.
Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja is busy on national duty too. The cricketer is a part of India's ODI team that is currently facing Australia. He was recalled to the team after his stellar performance in the Test series. Rivaba married Ravindra Jadeja in 2016 and the couple has a daughter together.
