28th September 2016. 11 days after the deadly terror attack in Uri, the Indian Army carried out a successful surgical strike on suspected militant pads across the Line of Control in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. History quite repeated itself in 2019. 12 days after the Pulwama terror attack, the responsibility of which was accepted by Pakistan-bassed terror outfit Jaish-E-Mohammed, the Indian Airforce successfully destroyed the biggest JeM training camp near LoC early on Tuesday morning. This is being considered a major win for India's fight against terrorism.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who held a high-security meet soon after the attack on Tuesday morning, was in Rajasthan to address a rally. "Today, let us all salute the brave hearts of India. Let's bow down our hearts in their honour," he said and recited the BJP's anthem that came into being in 2014. "Saugandh mujhe iss mitti ke, main desh nahi rukne dunga/ Main desh nahi rukne deunga, main desh nahi jhukne dunga," he was heard saying.
Public figures from all walks of life including politics, entertainment and sports have lauded the move. Reportedly, ever since the Kargil War of 1971, this is the first time that Indian Air Force's help was taken to combat tension at the LoC.
