The West Hollywood City Council voted Monday night and urged the removal of President Donald Trump’s star from the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
West Hollywood City council unanimously passes resolution asking the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to remove the Donald Trump star on Hollywood Walk of Fame. #horcruxdestroyed #bellicose #belligerent #unAmericanvalues #MakeAmericaintoAmericaAgain— JohnDuran (@JohnDuran) August 7, 2018
This happens immediately after Trump’s star was fully vandalised for the second time, but this time by a pickaxe-wielding 24-year-old man who immediately turned himself to the police. The site has become a symbol not only of the nation’s celebrity president but of the polarization surrounding him. And the nearby city council has had enough of it; the chaos.
Also for the uninitiated, the star is not at all the property of West Hollywood, but it belongs to the Los Angeles city. Plus, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has already refused past efforts to remove the stars of disgraced actors including Bill Cosby and Kevin Spacey.
The West Hollywood City Council popped up with a number of reasons behind its resolution to remove the star, including Trump’s disturbing treatment for women and other actions that do not meet the shared values of the City of West Hollywood, the region, state, and country. The separation of migrant families at the border, withdrawal from the Paris Climate Agreement, and Trump’s treatment of transgender individuals were also among other concerns raised.
Lastly, only time will tell whether Trump will be or not be the part of FAME!
