Former Indian cricketer VVS Laxman, who remains to be one of the most technically sound batsman to have played cricket, turns 43 today. He has a special place in Indian cricket and still remains one of the most respected athlete in the cricketing world. Born on November 1, 1974, he will always be remembered for leading India against Australia, especially for his 281 knock at Eden Gardens.
Born in a family of doctors, his parents are noted physicians in Hyderabad. But for Laxman, cricket was his way forward since childhood. He left his medical studies in the middle to play cricket and made it to the Indian national team. He was best known for his wrist work and his ability to put any bowler to shame through his classic cricketing shorts that earned him the nickname, Very Very Special (VVS) Laxman.
As the veteran cricketer turned 43, celebrities and sports stars took to Twitter to wish the legend a very happy birthday. Of all the stars who took to Twitter to wish VVS, Virender Sehwag wished him, in his typical style.
