India v Australia: Virat Kohli, KL Rahul sweat it out before second T20
Indian cricketers undergo a practice session prior to the February 27 clash against Australia.
The first T20I against Australia saw India on the losing side despite putting up a valiant fight. India’s batting lacked teeth and they lost wickets cheaply. Thanks to a stellar effort of the bowlers, the match was stretched to the last ball. India’s current objective is to get their combinations right and strategies set since the World Cup is only a couple of matches away. Following the loss, the team is now hard at work, training for the second T20.
The next match, scheduled for February 27 in Bengaluru, will be played at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Since it is a two-match T20 series, India will want to make sure they don’t let tomorrow’s match slip. Pictures shared by BCCI showed Virat Kohli practising in the nets. Several other players such as Yuzvendra Chahal, KL Rahul, and Vijay Shankar can be seen working out on a training field. All-rounder Krunal Pandya can be seen working on his bowling skills.
Vijay Shankar was not on the team for the first T20. It remains to be seen if the newcomer gets a call for the February 27 match. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli commented that his squad for the World Cup is ‘more or less’ sorted. However, he did mention that good performances in the Australia series would not be overlooked.Read More
