On Saturday, The Indian Women's Cricket Team plays their last match of the ongoing T20 series against England in Guwahati. Although they won the One Day Series with a 2-1 scoreline, they handed England a 2-0 win during the first T20 matches. With this, they also lost their sixth T20 match on a row. Smriti Mandhana, ICC's Cricketer of the Year, says the domestic cricket circuit needs to amp up its game in order to deliver better in the international circuit. It is to be noted that that team has failed to score above 120 in both the matches against England.
"There is a huge gap between international and domestic cricket. That gap needs to be lessened. The batters we get in domestic, they face very different bowling and fielding attack to international cricket. Our domestic circuit needs to step up. There should be a bit of fearlessness in the domestic circuit because if you start playing fearless cricket in the domestic circuit, you are going to play the same way in international cricket," Smriti PTI.

"If you look at our domestic scores in T20s, it is generally around 110-120. I think we all need to go back, step up in our domestic circuit, and take those scores to 140-150. That way, the batters will come with the mindset of playing a fearless brand of cricket. Fearless doesn't mean careless. I think we need to play fearless," she added, referring to the worrying scoreline.
Before this, the Indian Cricket team also lost their ODI series against Zimbabwe with the score being 3-0.
