Excitement ran low after the third T20 between India and New Zealand was reduced to an eight-over match due to rains. But what can be termed as a close call game, India emerged victorious over the Kiwis to bag their first T20 series win against. This is also India’s eighth consecutive win.
Winning the toss, New Zealand sent team India to bat first. Despite losing wickets constantly, India had put up a decent total of 67 runs with the loss of 5 wickets. In return, the men in blue were able to restrict the opponents at 61-9.
Thiruvananthapuram’s Greenfield international stadium could not have asked for a better debut international cricket fixture as India clinched their first T20 series win against the world No. 1, New Zealand. Though not a perfect win with the bat, the Indian bowlers did an excellent job. Yuzvendra Chahal shined the most at the penultimate over giving away just three runs making the target difficult for the Black Caps.
Adding to it, India has drastically improved their fielding. Giving no opportunities to the New Zealand team, the field was compact with no marginal errors. Former skipper cool MS Dhoni was as usual magnificent behind the stump clinching crucial run outs when the team needed it the most.
