The match had a thrilling start but became one-sided once India got out to bat. To be fair, India did win a couple of one-sided ODI matches against the Kiwis. It will be a memorable day for New Zealand as their women's team - known as the White Ferns - also beat India's women's team quite convincingly.

This match was shaping up to be a cracker when New Zealand began their batting. Tim Seifert was the pick of the batsmen, scoring 84 runs off 43 balls. Colin Munro and Kane Williamson provided support, scoring 34 runs each. Scott Kuggeliejn's cameo of 20 off 7 put the hosts at a commanding position. 219 was never going to be an easy task and when India went in to bat, they suffered an early setback as Rohit Sharma departed for 1. Dhawan's cameo ended at 29 while Vijay Shankar's stay on the crease was pretty but brief. The pressure got the better of him and Rishabh Pant, who looked out sorts and was bowled by Santner. DK and Hardik failed and it was up to Dhoni to salvage some pride. The former India skipper made a crisp 39 of 31 and once he departed, the tail didn't take long to be sent home.

Boom! Chahal is bowled by Daryl Mitchell and that brings us to and end to this game. New Zealand beat India by 80 runs. What a day, the White Ferns and Black Caps get the better of India's women and men's teams.

OUT! Dhoni falls victim to Southee as his pull shot is stopped in the deep. He departs for 39. That's the highest score by an Indian batsman today. Well played.
