India vs New Zealand: Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma greeted with a loud cheer at Auckland airport
Following India’s historic victory over Australia, which saw the visiting team beat the hosts for the first time since 1948, Virat Kohli and his men have arrived in New Zealand. During the tour of Australia, India managed to level the T20 series and clinch a series win in both the Tests and ODI series. The team now looks forward to locking horns with the Black Caps, who are currently ranked third. The players, along with Virat's wifey Anushka Sharma, have landed at the Auckland Airport to loud cheers from fans.
A video going viral on the internet showed Team India players walking out of the airport with their luggage as fans cheered their arrival. The players waved at their supporters as they walked past the supporters. The noise level rose considerably the moment Virat and Anushka walked out. While Virat put up a tired wave, Anushka made no such gesture and followed the rest of the team.

India and New Zealand will be playing a total of five ODIs and three T20s. The series against the Kiwis begin from January 23 onwards. The last time India toured New Zealand was in 2014. It wasn’t a memorable series for India. The MS Dhoni-led side managed to lose the two-match Tests 1-0 and the five-match ODI series 4-0 after one match was tied. Suffice to say, the team will now be looking forward to some payback, especially Dhoni, who’d probably want to settle some scores.
