It was on Wednesday when the Indian cricket team started the India VS New Zealand ODI series with a historic win. Our boys in blue beat the Kiwis by 8 wickets amidst a super-hit partnership of skipper Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan. However, the highlight of the day for us was seeing how our boys celebrated their success. In a clip shared on the official account of BCCI, a stress-free Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni ditched their bats and had fun while riding a Segway on the field.
The video showed both Dhoni and Kohli effortlessly pulling of their ride as their fellow-mates cheered in the background. Is there anything Dhoni and Kohli can’t do? The correct answer is NO. Well, this one’s really special because it’s not very often that we see our boys having gala time post a match, all thanks to their hectic schedules. This post-match moment is a definitely well-deserved.
Speaking of matches and a hectic schedule, a recent statement by the BCCI revealed that Kohli has been rested for the final two ODIs against New Zealand and the upcoming three-match T20I series. That means Kohli will only play two more matches at the India VS New Zealand tour.
In the official BCCI release, they mentioned that Kohli has been rested keeping his workload in mind, "India captain Virat Kohli will be rested for the fourth and fifth ODI against New Zealand and the subsequent T20I series. Considering his workload in the last few months, the team management and Senior selection committee is of the view that it would be ideal for him to get adequate rest ahead of the home series against Australia.” Reportedly, Rohit Sharma will take the lead in Virat’s absence and no replacement has been disclosed.
