The Pulwama attack that took place on February 14, 2019, and has changed a lot of things between India and Pakistan. People of our country want to break all the ties with the neighbouring country and they also want the Indian cricket team to not play against Pakistan. The ICC World Cup is coming up and ICC has announced the matches. On June 16, 2019, there’s a match scheduled between India and Pakistan. While we are yet to know what decision the BCCI will take about playing the match with Pak or not, they have written a letter to ICC requesting them to sever ties with countries from which terrorism derives.
Rahul Johri, the Chief Executive Officer of the Board of Control for Cricket In India, has written a letter to ICC. ANI has tweeted the letter in which we can see that Johri has written about the Pulwama attack by Pakistan. He has also expressed concern for the safety and security of Indian players and fans of the country. The letter also states that BCCI reserves all the rights and entitlements of this regard. This means that the last call will be taken by BCCI. Let’s wait and watch if the India vs Pakistan match will happen or not.
Meanwhile, the ICC World Cup tournament director Steve Elworthy recently revealed that India vs Pakistan match is in demand and there are over 400000 applications for tickets.
