KL Rahul on Koffee With Karan row: Rahul Dravid helped me cope
Karan Johar’s Koffee With Karan sparked one of the biggest controversies in its sixth season. Surprisingly, this time the controversy didn’t involve any of Bollywood celebrities but rather, stars from the cricket world. It was KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya whose ‘sexist’ and ‘misogynist’ comments led to a massive controversy. As a result of which, the BCCI put them under suspension for two ODI matches. The suspension was later lifted and the pair was allowed to play in the international circuit. KL Rahul Now, for the first time KL Rahul is opening up on the rough time he had during his suspension.
"It has been a hard time, no doubt. As a player, as a person everyone has to go through difficult times and it was my time to go through that. As I said it gave me time to reflect on my game, on myself,” he said at a press conference. He further highlighted the role of Rahul Dravid to help him return to his form. "I could come back here and reflect on what wasn't going right for me. Fortunately, I got to play some India 'A' games where the pressure is a little less,”
“That helped me focus on my skills and my technique. I spent a lot of time with Rahul Dravid, working on my game and chatting about cricket. He helped me a lot in the games I played for India 'A'," he continued.
Despite the severe backlash, Rahul acknowledged the same while also hoping that it turns out to be a blessing in disguise.
“I hope so. Things happen like I said. Four-five years with Team India. Learnt about the game, where I stand as a cricketer, as a person so just try to get better from there and be consistent and keep performing,” he said.
