Another day and another story on Virat Kohli. The Indian captain is the inspiration for many and we can barely remember a day where there isn’t any news on him. Every time he has a lean patch, he comes back strong with a memorable performance and couples it with a unique celebration after scoring a century. Recently, the Bangladeshi batsman Sabbir Rahman pulled off a magnificent century against New Zealand. Scoring 102 runs off 110, Rahman did a Virat Kohli-style celebration.
Upon reaching the landmark, Rahman bent over to kiss the ground and then held his bat up and pointed towards the team room, gesturing with his fingers that his bat does the talking. Rahman reached his century courtesy of 12 boundaries and two sixes. This will be a memorable moment for Rahman as it was his maiden ODI hundred for Bangladesh. Last year when India was touring England, Kohli pulled off a similar stunt after reaching a century. Kohli’s credibility as captain and batsman was questioned the time when the team faced England in English conditions.
As for Rahman, his century went for a losing cause as the Blackcaps beat the Tigers by 88 runs. Bangladesh started off poorly, losing their openers early before Mohammad Saifuddin and Rahman managed to steady things. The lower order crumbled soon after, making way for the Kiwis to clinch the match.
