In the wake of the recent Pulwama attack, several celebrities have come out in the open to speak up against Pakistan. Besides AICWA announcing a ban on Pakistani artists in Bollywood, there have also been talks about boycotting Pakistan in the upcoming World Cup 2019. After former cricketer Sunil Gavaskar expressed that India would be better off beating Pakistan in the World Cup than deciding to not play against the team, it’s Sachin Tendulkar who has now come out to voice his opinion.
The Master Blaster put up a lengthy statement through a tweet on Friday, saying that it’s time to beat Pakistan once again. He also reminded fans that India has never let Pakistan grab the trophy in a World Cup match. He went on to say that he ‘would personally hate to give them two points and help them in the tournament’. He concluded saying that his country comes first for him and he would abide by whatever decision the country makes.
