Shikhar Dhawan, who is in Australia to be a part of series Down Under, has sent out a message for his fellow teammate and new daddy, Rohit Sharma. Dhawan is already a father of three and he said he is happy for his friend’s entry into fatherhood. Rohit and his wife Ritika Sajdeh welcomed their first child in December last year. On December 30, the couple had become parents to their daughter, Samaira. Addressing the media prior to the third ODI against Australia, Dhawan congratulated the couple.
"I'm very happy for Rohit and his wife. Of course, he is very happy after becoming a father and I'm sure he'll be a great father," Dhawan said. During the interaction, Dhawan was asked about his training session, where he was spotted practising with a tennis ball at the nets. To that, the batsman replied that he was working to improve his reflexes against short balls. "As an opener, I make sure that my reflexes are quick, and even my decision making gets stronger, it's a repetitive drill so I like doing it," he said.
India will try and win the last ODI to seal the series. If India wins it, it will indeed be a momentous achievement – winning a Test and ODI series Down Under. Meanwhile, Cricket Australia announced two changes to their squad for the last ODI. Adam Zampa and Billy Stanlake will replace Nathan Lyon and Jason Behrendorff.
