Following the victory in Australia, Team India skipper Virat Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma spent some time out at the Australian Open. The couple met the tennis legend Roger Federer, and Kohli, who watched his performance since he was a little child, was blown over by the man. Kohli was stumped when Roger said that he remembered meeting him a couple of years back. Speaking in an interview, Kohli gushed about his second meet-up with Roger – and also how he likes spending time with his wife.
"He (Federer) told me that he met me in Sydney a couple of years back during an exhibition match and I was like "woah he remembers me". I can't explain that feeling. I have seen him play since I was a child and he is a great man and a great human being," Kohli said, adding that Roger kept asking him questions and that he could speak to him about mindset.
Moving on to his personal life, Kohli said that he and Anushka enjoy doing normal things – such as going out for walks. With the immense fan following the two stars have, it becomes hard for them to spend time without someone spotting them. He revealed that he finds Napier to be beautiful and that the couple enjoyed doing normal things like sitting on a bench at the Marine parade.
"It's actually the simplest thing that gives us joy purely because we are always in the public eye and we are always doing things in front of people. To get away and not be known by anyone is something that we both like," the Indian captain said.
