What could be more refreshing than a chilled beer? Nobody knows that better than the boys at Bayern Munich. October might be a week away but the German champions threw on their traditional Bavarian lederhosen to celebrate the Oktoberfest, drowning their sorrows of the 2-2 draw against Wolfsburg.
The shock draw to mid-table Wolfsburg did not dampen their spirits. Everyone was seen having a great time. The likes of Mats Hummels, Robert Lewandowski, Arjen Robben, Joshua Kimmich and Javi Martinez were all pictured with their 1-liter jugs of beer spending some quality time with their loved ones. Manger Carlo Ancelotti also seemed to be enjoying himself at the beer festival. He was seen enjoying his beer with his wife Mariann Barrena McClay.
The Oktoberfest came as some much-needed team bonding as the German giants are struggling to find form. In their first 6 league games, Bayern have dropped five from a possible 18 points. The result of the draw against Wolfsburg means the defending champions are now third on the Bundesliga table, three points behind league leaders Borussia Dortmund.Carlo Ancelotti’s side may be unfazed by the draw and unwinding right now, but they will soon have to sober up and turn their attention back to football and the Champions League where they face a tricky tie against French giants Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday. The crucial fixture could decide Group B with Celtic and Anderlecht also in the pool. Let’s hope the hangover does not show up on Wednesday.
