After Jaipur Pink Panthers bagging the title in 2014 and Mumbai Giants U Mumba claiming it the next year, it was Patna Pirates to win it in 2016. However, it might be time to celebrate a new winner in the Pro-Kabaddi League this year.
While Jaipur had a good start to the season, things went south as soon as the home leg ended. Losing 5 matches they now have only 28 points from the 9 games played. U Mumba, on the other hand, has lost six matches; three in the away leg and three in their home ground in Mumbai.
Patna Panthers, however, have managed to lead the score difference table with a total of 46 points but remain behind Bengal Warriors with a difference of 9 points in Zone B.
With the previous champions far behind in the race to the championship, Gujarat Fortunegiants and Haryana Steelers have marked their place in 2017. Gujarat who has lost only 3 of the 13 games are first on the list with a score difference of 38 points.
Haryana is currently standing with three losses in 12 matches with a score of 41 points.
With so many star raiders and defenders ready to take on the mat, the 2017 season of the league has been full of twist and turns.
U Mumba is still in the competition having grabbed the third place in the standings for now, but as far as predictions for a winner goes all bets will definitely be on Gujarat Fortunegiants and Haryana Steelers this year.
