Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton is on top of the world right now. He not only holds the record for the most pole positions in the history of the sport with 71 to his name, Hamilton recently overtook all-time great Michael Schumacher and is now cruising towards his fourth world title. His only title rival, Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel failed to cross the checkered line after a spark plug forced his vehicle into early retirement at the Suzuka circuit in Japan.
The next stop on the Formula 1 calendar is the United States Grand Prix in Texas, but the three-time world champion first headed to Paris for quite an important meeting. We don’t know what the meeting was about, but the British driver took to Instagram posting pictures flashing the colours of his rivals Ferrari. Hamilton flew back from Paris to London in a flashy red jet. While one can argue that it could be a coincidence, but Ferrari fans will be crossing their fingers after Hamilton also posted an image of his red motorcycle collection just minutes before the jet images.
Hamilton has never shied away when expressing his desire to drive for Ferrari in the past, but his dream to race for the Italians might take a while to come true after Vettel extended his deal for the next three years with the outfit. But for now all is speculation, we don’t know what the future has in store for the British ace.
Hamilton currently leads Vettel in the world championship race by a massive 59 points with just 4 races to go. Mercedes also leads Ferrari by a huge 145 points in the constructor’s trophy. For the last 4 years, Mercedes has been dominant and Hamilton has been their driving force, so it doesn’t surprise many if Ferrari tries to lure it's prized asset to switch alliances. The United States Grand Prix will be held between October 20th and 22 following which races in Mexico, Brazil and Abu Dhabi complete the season.
