Virat Kohli is a fitness beast. The big boss of Indian cricket once said that he bid adieu to meat and animal products and went on a vegan diet. While Kohli confirmed his decision a couple of months back, his close friend Sunil Chhetri, the captain of India’s football team, revealed his dietary choices only recently. Chhetri revealed in an interview that he has taken the plunge to a vegan diet in the hope of improving his physique since he’s now in the wrong side of the 30s.
Just like his cricketer buddy, Chhetri knows about keeping himself fit through his workouts and diet. Speaking to Times of India, the footballer revealed that he is often in contact with Kohli and the two of them discuss fitness and food. “Most of our chats are about football, diet — I don’t know whether he has announced it, but he is vegan now. I am also vegan now. It is great, it is a good feeling,” said Chhetri, adding that he didn’t start his vegan diet for the love of animals.

“I didn’t start because of love for animals. Because after eating 2000 lambs I can’t say that. (But at my age) It helps in recovery,” Chhetri was quoted as saying. Currently, Chhetri is concentrating on the Indian Super League where he plays for Bengaluru FC. Though he's 33, Chhetri recently revealed that he has no plans to retire - at least not until there's a better No. 10 replacing him.
