Wasim Akram to India: Pakistan is not your enemy, we are brothers in arms

Relations between India and Pakistan have always been shaky but it has changed drastically for the worse in the last few days. Post the Pulwama terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir and the subsequent aerial strike along the Line of Control (LoC) the situation in India is tense. On Tuesday, there was heavy accusations on both sides of the border and former Pakistan Cricket team Captain Wasim Akram has urged the authorities of both India and Pakistan not to engage in war.

The 52-year-old left-handed swing legend took to Twitter and shared his message for peace. In the post, Wasim appealed to the leaders of both countries not resort to violence but to fight the common enemy together. Wasim also said that war is not the answer to the problem.

 

On this side of the border too, voices are being raised in favour of peace. having said that, sentiment is riding high on both sides of the argument. The government, however, is yet to decide on the next course of action. Meanwhile, India has given Pakistan a dossier with details of Jaish-e-Mohammed’s complicity in Pulwama terror attack in which 40 CRPF personnel were killed earlier this month.
