Do people run away every time you remove your shoes? And you keep wondering why.
If you don’t dare to ask your friend, a Japanese company might have the answer with a new robot dog that will sniff your feet and give you a pitilessly honest verdict—The robot dog will even faint if the stink is especially strong.
This pup is named Hana-Chan. Hana means ‘nose’. It has a sensor in its nose and is trained to sniff your feet. If your feet smell fresh and dandy, Hana will wag its tail in delight. If your foot is bordering on stinky, it will sound a warning bark. If, however, your feet kick up a stench, Hana will faint and fall over.
The 15-centimetre (6-inch) dog is equipped with an odour detection sensor and sprays air freshener when things are unbearable.
Manufacturers Next Technology created the robot in response to a request from a man who was desperate to know if he had a problem.
Especially in Japanese and Indian households where the practice of removing shoes at the doorstep is prevalent, this pup brings a sigh of relief.
While Hana faints on sniffing smelly feet, you too might faint on looking at the price, so before you take out your checkbook or your debit/credit cards you should know that the Robot dog will cost you Rs. 9,78,620(¥100,000) and will certainly make a hole in your pocket. While for some folks the price might be reasonable, but elsewhere, we’re not sure.
