Karthi, who was on a great run after both his films in Theeran and Kadaikutty Singam made magic at the box office, suffered a huge debacle with his last outing Dev. The film turned out be a huge flop at the ticket window, failing to garner attention from the audiences on the whole. But put that into history, and everything about his upcoming film Kaithi sounds very exciting. As the title goes, the film will have him playing the role of a prisoner.
After talks with important people from the team, we have learnt that the entire story of Kaithi is something that takes place over the course of just four hours. The film which has no songs or heroine, has cinematography by Sathyan Sooryan and will come with a background score set to place by composer Sam CS. However, there are no doubts that it will be extremely high on thrills and action. Maanagaram director Lokesh Kanagaraj, who is helming this film as his second venture, is said to have concentrated solely on the script without paying heed to any commercial compromises.
Only few days of shoot are hanging in the balance for Kaithi, which will be vying for a release date in the months of June and July. On completing this project, Karthi will move on to his light-hearted entertainer with Remo director Bakkiyaraj Kannan, in which he pairs up with Rashmika Mandanna. He also has the upcoming film with Drishyam director Jeethu Joseph, in which Jyothika plays a pivotal role.
