Following the long delays that it faced, Mahesh Babu’s upcoming family entertainer Maharshi is now progressing as per plan, with the entire shoot to be wrapped up by the end of this month. Director Vamshi Paidipally and his team have just completed the Chennai schedule of the film, and are back to Hyderabad to can the rest of the talkie portions, which will be completed in a couple of days. And finally, the team will be flying to Dubai by the third week of this month, with an intent to wrap up the two remaining songs for the film.
Maharshi will then progress swiftly in the post-production stage, running towards its release date of May 9th which has already been announced by the makers. Mahesh Babu’s fans have been long waiting for further updates from the team, who have gone into silent mode after the launch of the recent poster. According to a source from the unit, the makers are now concentrating on the completion of shoot after which they will kick off the promotional run while the work on the edit table takes place simultaneously in the background.

Maharshi is helmed by Vamshi Paidipally, who earlier delivered emotional family entertainers such as Brindavanam and Oopiri (Thozha in Tamil). The director is a specialist when it comes to staging scenes that tug one’s heartstrings, and he is expected to do it again here as well. The film has Pooja Hegde playing the female lead, with Allari Naresh in a pivotal role. Cinematography has been taken care of by KU Mohanan while the music is composed by Devi Sri Prasad.
