With the casting and the pre-production process being locked in place quickly, Superstar Rajinikanth’s next film with director AR Murugadoss is fast approaching the start of shoot. According to industry birdies, the film will be taking off by the end of this month. And that’s not it, as we have just heard that almost the entire film will be shot in the streets of Mumbai. Apart from his recent outing Kaala, one of Superstar’s Rajinikanth most iconic films in Baasha, where he played the role of a raging don, was shot in this city. Murugadoss too, has a great connect with Mumbai as it is where he had canned three of his films – the Hindi version of Ghajini, Thuppakki and its Hindi remake Holiday.
With Santhosh Sivan and Anirudh Ravichander finalized as the cinematographer and music director respectively, fans are now looking forward to the big announcement on who will be the heroine. A source close to the director tells us, “Murugadoss first wanted Keerthy Suresh to play the female lead. But as the actress has just signed three new films, she said that she would not be able to allot time for this project. Hence, the makers approached Nayanthara who is most likely to come on board.” Recently, costumer designer Niharika Bhasin Khan who had worked on Petta, confirmed her inclusion in the team through her Instagram page.
Lyca Productions, who were associated with Superstar’s Rajinikanth’s recent outings such as Kaala and 2.0, will be bankrolling this film at a towering budget. Touted to be a cop entertainer, this will be the star’s 166th
film in his career.
